POWER UP

Start Here! 3 Ways to Power Up

01 · CHARACTERS
Level Up & Increase Grade
Raise base stats through levels and unlock Potential Abilities by increasing Grade.
02 · MEMORY SCENES
Level Up & Increase Grade
Improve stats through levels and unlock stronger effects through Grade upgrades.
03 · TYPE ENHANCEMENT
Strengthen Your Entire Roster
Increase stats such as ATK and HP and unlock useful battle effects, including a larger Aura pickup range.
When you get stuck, review all three growth systems together.

For both Characters and Memory Scenes, two things are especially important: raising base stats by leveling up and unlocking Potential Abilities by increasing Grade.

Type Enhancement can improve stats such as ATK and HP, while also unlocking special effects that give you an edge in battle, such as increasing your Aura pickup range.

QUEST
02
LEVEL UP

What to Upgrade First

1

Level up the team slots you actually deploy.

Character levels are saved by team slot, while Memory Scene levels are saved by category.

2

Keep Type Enhancement progressing.

Its bonuses apply to all Characters you own, making it a strong long-term investment.

3

Increase Grade for the Characters and Memory Scenes you use most.

Grade upgrades unlock Potential Abilities and may improve attack range, skill effects, activation conditions, and more.
01

Start by Leveling Up!

Character levels are saved to each team slot, rather than to individual characters.

That means if you place a different character into a slot you have already leveled, that slot’s level will still apply.

Memory Scene levels work the same way and are saved by category, such as Crown or Key. Because your levels remain useful even after obtaining new Characters or Memory Scenes, it is worth upgrading actively from the early game.

POINT!
Rather than investing heavily in just one team slot, first make sure none of the slots you deploy are left at a low level.
02

Don’t Forget Type Enhancement!

Type Enhancement is a progression system that benefits all Characters you own.

Some upgrades use Jenny, while others use Mastery Scrolls. Mastery Scrolls can be obtained by completing Challenge Battle missions and other objectives.

Because the bonuses still apply even when you swap Characters, Type Enhancement is an important way to increase your overall strength over the long term.

03

Increase Grade to Unlock Potential Abilities!

Increasing the Grade of a Character or Memory Scene unlocks its Potential Abilities.

In addition to raising base stats, Grade upgrades may improve attack range, skill effects, activation conditions, and more.

Grade upgrades may require a Character or Memory Scene with the same name, or materials matching the same role or category. Start by prioritizing the ones you use most often.

!
CAUTION!
Some Grade upgrades require a Character or Memory Scene with the same name.
Before using one as upgrade material, make sure you have checked which material slots are required.

QUEST
04
TEAM BUILDING

Build Your Team Around Roles and Attack Range!

In Character Team Setup, your party can include up to four Characters: 1 LEADER controlled by the player, and 3 MEMBERS who fight automatically.

Characters are divided into the following four roles.

AttackFocuses on dealing damage and defeating enemies quickly.
DefenseImproves survivability and helps reduce pressure from enemy attacks.
SupportProvides useful effects that strengthen the team during battle.
HealingRestores HP and helps keep the team stable in longer fights.
Learn the four roles and build a well-balanced team!

Attack skills can have special effects based on each Character’s role.

A

Recommended Starter Team

LEADER

Choose a Character you can control comfortably.

DEFENSE

Helps against hazards and ranged enemies.

HEALING

Adds stability and recovery.

ATTACK / SUPPORT

Add damage or utility based on the stage.
Start with a balanced team that includes one Healing-role Character, then adjust the role balance to fit your playstyle.

When starting out, we recommend a balanced team with one Healing-role Character.

If every Character has a short attack range, it is easier to get surrounded and take more hits.

Including at least one Character with a wide attack area or long-range attacks can make battles much more stable.

Defense-role Characters are also useful against hazards such as poison pools and enemy ranged attacks.

L
LEADER SELECTION TIP!
When choosing a LEADER, look beyond rarity. Check attack range and how easy the Character is to control while moving, and choose one that feels comfortable to operate manually.
B

Recommended Teams by Situation

Getting surrounded by enemies?

Add a Character with wide-area or long-range attacks, or use a Defense-role Character to help control the situation.

Taking too much damage?

Include a Healing-role Character and strengthen Memory Scenes that improve HP and survivability.

Can’t defeat enemies fast enough?

Use more Attack or Support roles and strengthen offense-focused Memory Scenes.

Having trouble with bosses?

Plan separately for bosses and regular enemies. Some effects, such as blocking ranged attacks, may not work against certain boss attacks.
Adjust your team and battle approach based on what is preventing you from winning!

Some effects, such as “blocks ranged attacks,” may not activate against certain boss attacks.

Plan separately for regular enemies and for bosses.

QUEST
05
MEMORY SCENE

Choose Memory Scenes for Damage or Survivability!

You can equip one Memory Scene from each of the six categories.

For More Damage
CrownKeyFlag
Prioritize these when you can’t defeat enemies in time.
For More Survivability
GemChaliceCompass
Prioritize these when you keep getting defeated during a stage.
There are no set bonuses, so choose Memory Scenes freely to match the stage and your team.

Memory Scenes do not have set bonuses based on combinations, so you are free to choose them according to the stage and your team.

When You Can’t Defeat Enemies in Time

Upgrade Crown, Key, and Flag to improve your offensive power.

When You Get Defeated Mid-Stage

Upgrade Gem, Chalice, and Compass to improve HP and survivability.

POINT!
Level all categories evenly, then give a slight priority to either offense or survivability depending on what is holding you back.
QUEST
06
EVOLVE

Aim for Evolve During Battle!

Defeating enemies in battle causes EXP Aura to appear.

Collect Aura to fill the gauge. When it reaches maximum, you can choose from Character Base Skills, Support Skills, Support Items, and more.

STEP 1Defeat Enemies
STEP 2Collect EXP Aura
STEP 3Choose Skills / Items
STEP 4Meet Requirements
STEP 5Evolve
Collect EXP Aura and pick the skills you need to reach Evolve!

Evolve Skills greatly improve Base Skills, including their attack range, attack frequency, and more.

The skill selection screen shows which skills are eligible for Evolve, so first check what is required to Evolve the Characters in your team.

Skill Priority for Beginners
1Skills required for Evolve (focus on leveling the Base Skill you want to Evolve)
2Base Skills for Characters in your team
3Support Skills and Support Items

Rather than spreading your choices across many different skills, aim to Evolve the Characters you are using first. This makes it easier to build up your strength during battle.

QUEST
07
TROUBLESHOOTING

Checklist When You Can’t Win

Is your current Power close to the Recommended Power?
Have you leveled up all team slots you deploy?
Have you strengthened your Memory Scene categories?
Have you progressed Type Enhancement?
Does your team include the roles and attack ranges needed for the stage?
Are you aiming for Evolve during battle?
If Auto is not enough, try manual controls and dodge enemy attacks.
If you get stuck, review your upgrades, team setup, and battle approach based on the cause!

Recommended Power is a guideline for how strong you should be to clear a stage.

If your current Power is close to the Recommended Power, try using manual controls as well as Auto so you can dodge enemy attacks while fighting.
